A few things to know
Findcub is built for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. The current development build was verified on macOS 26 with an Apple M4 and 16 GB of memory; the minimum OS still needs release validation.
Local files, search queries and local inference stay on your Mac. Account sign-in and model downloads use online services. Optional cloud connections contact the providers you authorize and download selected content for local indexing.
Documents, images, supported video and audio formats, plus filenames. PDFs, Word documents and presentations are searched through page images; text files and spreadsheets use text semantics. Audio search does not produce a transcript.
Once the models are downloaded and your local content is indexed, local content search runs on your Mac. Online account actions, downloading models and synchronizing cloud sources need a connection. Filename search is available without loading the model.
Findcub is currently a 0.1 development preview. A public download is not available on this website yet. Search quality, long-running stability and release validation are still in progress.
